HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM ICE CREAM?
Gelato is not simply the Italian name for ice cream. It has some superior and healthier characteristic compared to regular ice cream.
Unlike ice cream that has – well – cream as its main ingredient, gelato is made of milk. To make our excellent gelato, we only accept fresh and sterile milk.
Because it’s churned at much slower speed than ice cream, gelato produces less air that results in the higher density and softer texture.
Gelato freezes faster than ice cream does. It’s typically stored and served at a higher temperature than ice cream to keep its texture and creaminess.
As it uses less cream or no cream at all, gelato has less fat in it. The lower level of fat makes gelato a much healthier treat.
